1. Who We Are

SFA Academy ("SFA Academy," "we," "us," or "our") is a fully accredited middle and high school operated by Specially Fit Foundation Corporation, serving student-athletes across our Dover, Tampa, and St. Petersburg campuses in Florida. Our main campus is located at 3101 Sydney Dover Road, Dover, Florida 33527.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through strongfaithathletics.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, our online application, and the email and text message communications we send to families.

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us directly

When you submit an application, request information, or schedule a campus visit, we collect:

  • Student information: first and last name, gender, date of birth, athletic interests, email address, phone number, cell phone number, home address, current school, current grade level, GPA, and any medical information you choose to share with us.
  • Parent or guardian information: first and last name, email address, and phone number.
  • Application context: your Step Up for Students application status, how you heard about SFA Academy, and what brings you to our school.

Information we collect automatically

When you visit our website, we may automatically collect your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, the pages you visit, and the dates and times of your visits. We collect this through cookies and similar technologies.

What we do not collect

We do not collect Social Security numbers through this website or through our application. If you apply for a Step Up for Students scholarship, you provide that information directly to Step Up For Students. It does not pass through SFA Academy, and we do not store it.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Review and evaluate applications for admission
  • Communicate with you about your application by email, phone, and text message
  • Schedule interviews and campus visits
  • Answer your questions about our academic and athletic programs
  • Guide families through the Step Up for Students scholarship process and remind you about outstanding documents
  • Enroll admitted students and maintain student records
  • Improve our website and our programs
  • Comply with legal, accreditation, and regulatory obligations

4. Text Messaging (SMS) Program

SFA Academy operates a text messaging program to support families through the admissions process.

Who receives texts. Text messages are sent only to the parent or guardian listed on the application, and only after that parent or guardian has given express written consent by checking the consent box on our application form. SFA Academy does not send automated text messages to students.

Consent is optional. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of applying to, being admitted to, or enrolling at SFA Academy. You can complete an application without agreeing to receive texts.

What we send. Application confirmations, reminders about missing documents, interview and campus visit scheduling, Step Up for Students scholarship deadlines and guidance, and replies to questions you send us.

Message frequency. Message frequency varies based on where you are in the admissions process.

Cost. Message and data rates may apply.

How to stop. Reply STOP to any message to opt out. You will receive one confirmation message and then no further texts.

How to get help. Reply HELP to any message, email us at speciallyfitfoundation@gmail.com or call (727) 739-5944.

Carrier liability. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Mobile information and consent

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information only in the following situations:

  • Service providers. We use third-party vendors to operate our systems, including website hosting, database storage, email delivery, and text message delivery. These vendors process information only on our instructions and only to provide services to us. They are contractually prohibited from using your information for their own purposes.
  • Step Up For Students. If you ask us to help with your scholarship application, we may share relevant information with Step Up For Students at your direction.
  • Accrediting bodies and educational partners. Where required to maintain accreditation or to support dual enrollment and college placement, and where permitted by law.
  • Legal requirements. Where required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect the safety of our students and staff.

We never share mobile phone numbers, text message opt-in data, or consent records with any third party for marketing or promotional purposes.

6. Children's Privacy

SFA Academy serves middle and high school students, and most of our applicants are under 18.

Applications are submitted by or with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian, who provides consent for the collection of the student's information described in this policy.

Student education records are protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Parents and eligible students have the right to inspect and review education records, request corrections, and control the disclosure of personally identifiable information from those records.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13 without proper consent, contact us at speciallyfitfoundation@gmail.com and we will delete it.

7. Health Information

Our application includes an optional field for medical issues. Any health information you share is used solely to support your student's safety, athletic participation, and academic accommodations. It is treated as confidential, is accessible only to staff with a legitimate need to know, and is never shared for marketing purposes.

8. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold, including encrypted transmission, access controls that limit staff access to what their role requires, and secure hosting infrastructure.

No system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and we will notify you if a breach affecting your personal information occurs, as required by law.

9. Data Retention

We keep application information for as long as needed to evaluate your application and, if your student enrolls, for as long as required to maintain student education records under applicable law and accreditation standards.

If your student does not enroll, we retain the application for a reasonable period in case you reapply, then delete it.

Text message consent records are retained for as long as you remain opted in, and afterward as required to demonstrate compliance with applicable law.

10. Your Choices and Rights

  • Text messages. Reply STOP to any text to opt out at any time.
  • Email. Use the unsubscribe link in any non-essential email. Please note that we may still need to send you emails about the status of an active application.
  • Access and correction. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you or your student, and ask us to correct anything inaccurate. Contact us at speciallyfitfoundation@gmail.com.
  • Deletion. You may ask us to delete your information. We will honor the request except where we are legally required to keep it.
  • Cookies. You can set your browser to refuse cookies. Some parts of the site may not work correctly if you do.

11. Third-Party Links

Our website links to third-party sites, including Step Up For Students and our accreditation partners. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Review their privacy policies before providing them with information.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated to families by email.
